HP LaserJet Pro 400 color Printer M451 series
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have had this off an on for a while now. Changing out low level toner cartridges has generally solved this issue but not today. The lowest capacity toner is the black and its at 50%.

I am printing on card stock paper (135-175g) single sided. I have the printer set to this paper type and that's what is in tray 2.  The color printing I do is heavy on blues and reds.

I can best describe the printing issue as a solid 1/4" thick line across the page. One printout has the blue and yellow bars and then 3in apart from that, the black and red bars. They repeat across the page totaling two complete sets of each color. Another has all four color bars side by side every 3 inches, still another, the original print out today, had a red bar only.

I love this printer and refills are cheap too. I don't want to have to replace it. Any ideas as to whats going on?

I have enclosed two photos, The top photo is the back and enhanced enough so you can see the faint lines across the page. The one on the bottom is a small portion of the page showing the repeating color bars.

Thanks!

How do I clean the calibration sensors?  I don't know where they are. Is there a link or video somewhere to show that?

Anyone else having this or a similar issue find a way to solve this?

A few more pieces of information that may help diagnose the problem.

The color bars are 78mm from the start of one to the start of the next on each half of the page. They are in sets of 2 side by side with a tiny space and are four across the page. The printed page is actually two pages printed in book style. Page one on the left and page two on the right on the same piece of paper.

On a landscape printed page, the color bars run from top to bottom. In portrait mode, they run across the page from left to right.
