It's normal to the laser printer to get heated during the printing. Especially that is noticed in small printers like your model.
In the last stage of the print, process paper passes trough very hot fuser, to bond toner on paper temperatures must be high. Location of the hot fuser is at the top of the printer that's why top part of the printer and top sides of the printer get hot, and paper comes out from the printer hot too.

I will just add that it is not unusual for printers to steam if the paper you are using has a high moisture content.
