I have the same issue, only when I attempt to use your solution offered, I do not have the blue lower screen.  I simply have a red bar across the bottom that says "Drag icon here to delete shortcut" I have no shortcuts available at all on my desktop other than copy ID card and Send fax now.  I cannot even cancel printing from the screen any longer as the "x" icon is now missing as well. I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall the printer multiple times and still to no avail. Is there a way to set it back to factory settings?

Hi @Wildekatza

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the control panel icons.

To restore the printer to the original factory defaults, try these steps -

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).

2. Touch Printer Maintenance .

3. Touch Restore.

4. Touch Restore Factory Defaults. A message appears stating that the factory defaults will be restored.

5. Touch Restore.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
