Success at last...After the last install I looked for the folders which wern't there previously and they were there this time.So as mine is a different printer the folder numbers were different. So I found the Utils folder and did as stated and it uninstalled.Did disk cleanup and reinstalled. No problem this time and it installed perfectly. No error meassage.

Printer has just printed some pages and all that is wrong with it now is that the back cartridge is low on ink.

So thanks.I got there eventually. With my reinstall and your solution.

So I got it to print and realised it was doing on USB so set it up to print via Wi-Fi but there was a problem.I realised the Antivirus=Firewall was blocking it although i hadn't ahd any problem recently.(or perhaps I had as it had stopped working for some reason)

So I stopped the antivirus-Firewall from running and now sucess.Printer works on wifi and antivirus/firewall restarted.

Thanks HP got there in the end.

Another way I found today withn the 4500 series is find hpzstub.exe and delete it.I found about seven instances in my Temp folder and another in the HP folder.I also deleted the .ini file associated in the HP folder.

Fors ome reason this behaves just like a virus and seems badly thought out.Not sure why it should behave in such a way.

Also in Task Manager kill the process in there.

It may be a different exe file in other setups. This I'm not so sure about but in the task manager program you have to kill may give you a few more clueson what the exe is called.
