How do I print with the rear door open (pass through printing) on my new HP 477fnw printer as I used to do on my old hp2840?

you cannot print with the rear door open on that model.  there is a built in sensor  (you'll see the tab on the right side of the door if you're facing the back of it which activates the sensor) that needs to be engaged in order for the machine to print, otherwise it will just shoot an error.

You can't do that with the rear door open to print on HP M477.

There's a transfer roller on rear door used for image transfered to the page you printed which HP 2840 does not. Not only with the rear door open's sensor which we always can cheat it but not to the transfer roller.

So 2840 can print with rear door open but M477 can not.

HP M477 can not be used in that way.
