Hello @Darblu, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw printer.

We appreciate the opportunity to assist you and are glad we could help work toward a resolution. We hope our support has been valuable.

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please try a few troubleshooting steps provided below so that I can assist you further?

Fuser errors can often be triggered when the printer does not receive a steady and adequate power supply. Performing a proper power cycle allows the internal components to reset and the fuser unit to cool down completely, restoring normal operation.

  • Turn off the printer and gently disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Allow the device to rest for 25 to 30 minutes, giving the fuser enough time to fully cool—this pause helps dissipate any residual heat that may be contributing to the error.
  • Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet, ensuring a stable and uninterrupted flow of power. Avoid using extension cords, power strips, or surge protectors, as these can limit the current reaching the printer.
  • Power the printer back on and observe if it initializes smoothly.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
