LaserJet 1012
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP LaserJet 1012 USB printer that worked OK under Windows 7.  There appears to be no up-to-date driver for it to work with my new Windows 10 Pro OS.  Am I out of luck, or is there a generic print driver somewhere that might be made to work?

Or might one of the drivers for older Windows versions be made to work under Win10?

In either case I would need a little hand-holding to find, and perhaps to install, the needed driver.  I just went through the Win10 menus to install a printer and came up dry... -- JCW2

Try to use the driver of HP LaserJet 1015 if you can find it in Win10.

If there's not then you have to use HP UPD PCL5.

Before you install the driver make sure the connected port must be DOT4_001 but not USB001.

It should be DOT4_001 if Win10 didn't prepare it for your installation then find it from HP and download and install it first.

I think the best thing to use would be a Universal Printer Driver. This should work for setup for most any printer.

Here's a link to try:
