DELL PC & FIOS VERIZON Netwotk
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a DELL PC with Window 10 OS connected Wifi to Verizon FIOS Network.

I inherited HP LaserJet 4050T and JetDirect 500X.

Can I connect the HP Printer to:

- my PC directly

- to FIOS Router with HP 620N Card and RJ 45 Cable and then use the printer on the network.

- to FIOS Router with JetDirect 500X and RJ 45 Cable and then use the printer on the network

If yes - what I need to do?

the 4050 will not connect to the PC directly unless is has the old parallel port connection.  you should be able to network the printer with the jetdirect 620n card.  you need to install it into the slot located on the formatter board.  you can then connect your ethernet cable into the jetdirect and into the router.  You then need to go into the printer menu and enable the external jetdirect card.  you can set IP settings for DHCP which will populate your network settings.  you could also set it to manual to personally input network information.   After that setup, make sure to add a network printer to your PC, it'll ask for the IP address to connect, pop that in and you should be ready to roll.

Thank you.

What do you think about my 3rd option: to FIOS Router with JetDirect 500X and RJ 45 Cable and then use the printer on the network?

Another question - are there any issues with this set up and Windows 10?
