HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have followed the seven on-line steps for help and the off-line support help.  I have also updated and reloaded all software and drivers.  Nothing works to allow use of the printer.  All spooling and Wi-Fi works.  Everything tests out except the message that blocks use.  There has been no paper jam; the printer is clean.

A very warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you.

I understand that you have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer. I read that that there is a fake paper jam error. You have updated the printer drivers and the issue persists. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did any hardware changes take place on the printer recently?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

NOTE: If you have performed any of the steps then you may skip them and continue with the next step:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the issue persists then please perform the following steps from this link:

  • Step three: Check the carriage path with the carriage undocked
  • Solution five: Clean the rollers.

If the error still appears then you may reset the printer. Resetting the printer will restore the printer to its original settings and will also disconnect from the wireless network. You will need to reconfigure it again. I have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
