How do I erase the memory in an HP Color LaserJet Pro M252 dw printer when the control panel screen no longer works? The screen is white (blank) and the firmware is likely corrupted so I am unable to perform a reset using the control panel. I would like to ensure that the printer doesn't contain any sensitive information before disposal.

I was hoping for a network option .The other way will be to remove the side cover to gain access to the formatter board. On the board is a battery to keep the setting of the machine.Remove battery and that will clear all data possible and reset machine to factory defaults.Hope this will help.

I am not sure if this printer is a network printer, but if it is Connected on the network you could try and get the machine repaired wia the web interface of the machine.Hope this will help.

Thank you for your reply to my question. Appreciated. The printer is under warranty and I have received a replacement from HP. (Great customer service, btw.) I have to return this one but want to ensure it is stripped of personal information before shipping. It is not a network printer. Is there a way I can reset the printer via my computer if the printer's control panel is no longer functioning?

It does help, yes. HP probably wouldn't be happy if I tinkered with the innards -- and it would likely void the warranty -- but I do appreciate being informed that this is the only other way to reset the printer. Thank you!
