I dont have a 426 but its safe to assume this model has the same Embedded Web Server options as the rest of the HP LaserJets of recent history.  If you were to network connect the printer and then type the IP address of that printer into a web browser you can access its Embedded Web Server (EWS).  Once Signed into the EWS navigate to Security > Access Control.  From here you can configure the sign in permissions for the various features of the machine.  One of these features should be Copy and Scan/Send settings.

The options in this area should allow you to configure passwords.  You can also remove teh copy feature from teh control panel completly from EWS under the General > Control Panel Customization area.  Then noone will be able to use the copy feature at all.

Hi John,

thanks for your reply , actually I already checked these  settings and insert  a password  but it didn't lock the printer screen,  I could disable all scan jobs  but I couldnot stop coping feature and the printer screen still open to every one  .

I still need to use coping job and share the passcode only for the authorized users that's exactly what I am looking to acheive.

B regards

If its possible to isolate the copy feature and password protect it then the EWS area mentioned above is the place to do it.  It should be possible if you play around with the various options.

Thanks for the screenshot.

Unfortunetly that isnt the area i was referring to.  The feature to secure copy may not be availabel to you on your current firmware.  If you havent already try pulling the latest firmware and see if you can retrieve the Security Tab after logging into the EWS with the administrator account.

Attached is an example of the Security Tab from one of my M525s:

Hi John,

Just to update you , I could fix the issue before updating the firmware ! , screen will not be locked it will ask for the access code which is already activated after you choose the job (copy , scan , send to email etc...)

thanks again for your help .

Cheers
