How to send digital fax from desktop, hp 8600

Supposedly the hp 8600 All in One printer has the ability to send digital faxes from the desktop.  I assume this means anything from a PDF to a Word document to scan files on my PC.  This would be tremendously helpful to me, but I see no options for this function.  From the hp Officejet Pro 8600 application, I only seem to be able to send scans from the printer.  How do I send a file on my computer?

Found it.  You have to print to the 8600 fax function.

Hi,

I am having an issue trying to fax a Word document from my 8600 and can't tell from this thread how the solution was reached. I have selected the 8600 Fax function as my printer, but nothing is happening.

Please help.

BUNK !  Using the print function still does nothing.  The adobe icon just sits there and does nothing.  Only the SCAN operates
