Will printing quality improve by updating the Firmare? Where to find the Firmare for my HP Laserjet 4V?

That product is so old it likely did not have upgrade capability and certainly no current support. Just the limited memory that unit has is going to cause issues.

Firmware on that model was stored on SIMMs. Upgrading the firmware meant replacing the firmware SIMM with a newer version. I doubt you'll be able to find them as that is a very old printer from the mid-90's. You can try a Google search, but I don't think you'll have much luck. Print quality is not usually affected by firmware updates, especially in that printer. If you're having print quality issues, the most likely causes are going to be the fuser, toner cartridge or the transfer roller. The transfer roller, if it's never been replaced, is likely very old and worn out and will affect your print quality greatly.

Can you describe your print quality issue or provide a picture?
