Hi there,

I attempted to change the four cartridges today, and successfuly managed to replace the first black ink cartridge.

However, I had some trouble with the blue/cyan cartridge. I don't think I pushed in the cartridge down enough into the slot, or must not have inserted it smoothly into the printer, as when I closed the black printer door and the printer began to calibrate/initialize, it made juddering sounds like it was jammed.

Then the sounds stopped, but the red warning light was left on.

I opened the printer door once more, to observe that the blue cartridge was at the lower bottom and the other cartridges were in their place. Yet when the coloured buttons are pressed to rotate the carousel for changing the ink, the carousel does not move when the printer door is shut.

Even when the printer is turned off and on, the jamming, juddering sounds can be heard again.

I've seen this solution posted on the forums: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Hp-cp1025-unable-to-change-cartridge/td-p/5888176

This describes how to manually change the cartridge, however I'm unsure what is meant by the 'carousel brake' detailed in the forum. I also can't locate it on the left side where forum says it should be. Please see the photos, sorry they aren't the best quality.

thank you for reading, any help would be fantastic 🙂 IMG_7176.jpgIMG_7174.jpgIMG_7169.jpgthe forum solution referred to in my post explained that the carousel brake was on the left side of the cartridge but I cannot locate it.the forum solution referred to in my post explained that the carousel brake was on the left side of the cartridge but I cannot locate it.

As I understand,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Step one: Perform a power reset

Note: Remove all the toners from the printer and follow the steps given below

  1. Press the Power button () to turn on the product.

  2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  4. Wait at least 15 seconds.

  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.

  7. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button () to turn it on.

  8. Place the toner back into the printer.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you contact our phone support:
