Hi @Frustrated11111,

Good Day. Thanks for visiting the HP community. I reviewed the post regarding issues with printing from the IPad. It says the printer is offline. Superb troubleshooting and splendid description of the issue before posting. Hats off to you on that score. 🙂 I will gladly assist you here.

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did this happen after a recent software or iOS update?

For now, try these steps:

  • The printer seems to be working fine as the problem is with the IPad only as the printer works correctly with a computer.
  • Please perform only step 1 from this link: http://hp.care/2fIGGta to restart the computer (IPad), printer, and router. (In this case the computer is the IPad, then printer and the router).
  • Then check if the issue gets resolved.
  • Otherwise, uninstall and reinstall the HP smart app and check again.

Link for HP smart app: http://hp.care/2vtKpfK  this shows you how to download, install and use the HP smart app with FAQs

This link: http://hp.care/2fInbkb shows you how to print using Apple AirPrint with FAQs.

Link 2: http://hp.care/2fIS7kz to print from iPad and iPhone.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Hi @Frustrated11111,

I reviewed the post completely. I was away on my weekend (not a Saturday and Sunday) and hence could not respond to your post immediately.  Thanks for the quick response though.

Please let me know if you are trying to connect the IPad without the router directly to the printer using Wifi Direct?

Is the Ipad connected to the same network as the computer and printer and are you trying to print from the IPad using a wireless router?

If you are using Wifi Direct to connect the printer and the router then the password might be 12345678. Otherwise, check the printer information page and it will give you the password to connect wirelessly.  Also to do check the user guide link: http://hp.care/2f15Dfl Please refer to pages 58 and 112 in this regard.
