Operating System: Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Hi, I am having a problem with installing my printer to the computer. There is one cable for the electricity and the other one, I am wondering what is it for. I don't know how to connect the printer to my mac.

the printer does not appear in the computer.

I have downloaded the the software but when it comes to the connectivity, it does not work and it does not give me any option.

 

The only light on my printer is the green light showing that is it on.

I have no clue where the problem is?

Pls help me, I am getting mad

Is the other cable similar with the following cable ?

If yes, you can connect it to USB connector at its back (the round/square end), the flat end to your comuter and run setup from the CD which comes with printer
