I can't install hp laserjet 1200 printer in win 10

Hi

I have hp laserjet 1200 series and cannot install it.

I follow https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/My-laserjet-1200-will-not-work-with-windows-10/td-p/...

but I cannot install it.

when I pluged printer to PC, wizard do not run.

only an icon "USB2.0-print" seen in Devices an printer window.

Please Help me.

Try to install manually.

Add new printer -> don't let Windows search by itself -> click "old printer not ......." -> Local printer -> change connected port from LPT1 to Dot4_001 -> find 1200 on HP's menu list

If 1200 is not in there click "Windows Update" which is under right side of menu list, waiting for its finishing..... and go back finding again. It should be in there if not you can use 1300 / 2200 in subsitution it will be fine.

If you can't find the Dot4_001 port from beginning then change another USB port on PC, if still not than you may have a bad USB connector on 1200's formatter if it's shch case you have no choice but use LPT port or buy a USB<->LPT cable.

Because LPT is an old day's device there are few mother-boards still use it
