Product: LaserJEt MFP E52645dn
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is a new printer, the firmware is up to date. But randomly the Custom paper size (4.25 by 7) in Tray 2 will change to legal without being prompted. Tray 3 is set to Letter and works fine. Could this be a faulty formatter board or possibly power supply that is causing these settings to be "forgotten"?

Most common cause is users changing because they are prompted when opening and closing paper drawer. Try turning off the tray prompt.

I understand this can and does happen. However, in this particular case it appears to be changing without any interaction or prompting of any kind.
