Enterprise M506
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Everything has been going smoothly (no problems with computer wanting me to load tray 1).  I have only been using tray 2  because of larger capacity.  Today I set up another inlet printer (Epson) and used end of USB cable that normally connects to M506 - to speed up installation of Epson printer - I connected it to my Mac computer using USB cable normally used for M506.  Ever since - the M506 wants me to load tray 1.  I can switch to tray 2 for a single print episode, but then am asked to load tray 1.  Help, please.

Repairatrooper,

Thanks for your response.  I am an "old guy" and probably do not understand computers/printers like most other people.

I received your email answering my question and wanted to print a copy of the message.  On my Mac computer, with your email on the screen, I pressed the print button (up top on my screen) and a print dialog box appeared.  Presets: Default Settings. Paper size = US letter (that is what is loaded in my HP printer).  I pressed Print.  Ans the printer worked perfectly.  I made zero changes since I asked my question on the Board.  Before - did not work; now - works fine.  As usual, this makes zero sense to me.

Thank you again Repairatrooper for your interest.

This behaviour is caused by the computer asking  for a paper size or type that is not loaded in the printer already, or the tray settings on the printer do not match what is loaded in the printer. Check what paper the application is requesting.
