Impression Counts on HP LaserJet 400 MFP M425

When viewing the Device configuration via web browser, you can find the impressions section.  See the information below.  Total Impressions typically will indicate the total number of pages printed. 

What does "Fax Impressions" indicate?  Is this inbound printed pages(received faxes), or outbound scanned pages (send fax)?

Hi,

Fax Impressions indicates the number of received (incoming faxes)

Fax ADF Images Scanned and Fax Flatbed Images Scanned indicate the sent (outgoing) faxes number.

If that is the case then every DCA (Data Collection Agent) is not reporting properly for the M425s.

The DCA we have reports total pages based on meter count, in this case, our DCA is reporting only 11859.

Not the Sum of Faxes Received 30419 plus Total Impressions 11853 = 42272.

The term Total impressions would imply total printed pages,  would it not?

Do you actually print the faxes or do you use the digital fax feature to save faxes to folder or email? If saving to folder these pages would not count on print impressions but might show as fax impressions to track total received faxes. Likely need to engage an HP engineer to get the true answer.

Yes thank you, I considered that. However on this device under the Fax Tab the "Print Received Faxes" is checked.
