Hi,
I have pruchased my HP color laser printer MFP M281fdn in UK, now I have moved to India, I am facing the issue of imcompatible cartridge, as the cartridge 202A available in India is not compatible with the printer.
I am in contact with HP whats app chat support since last one (1) month, and we tried all possible solutions for the region change of my printer MFP281fdn, serial number: [removed] but nothing happened.

Issue Reported: Printer does not work with Indian cartridges

I request HP community to look into the matter and escalate the issue to highest level and kindly provide a concrete solution to it.

I have few concerns from HP regarding my printer:
1) When I brought the printer in UK, it was no where mentioned either on the website or on the printer that this printer is meant for use in UK only.
2) No where on website or on the printer user manual, HP has written that this printer will not work with cartridges available in India or outside UK.
3) Before purchasing the printer in UK, I have checked online about the compatible cartridges available in India, the HP website clearly shows that the compatible cartridge for 203A is 202A which is available in India.
4) Now, team HP has come up with another excuse that the model MFP281fdn is not launched in India, so we cannot provide a solution for incompatible 202A cartridge. If this is an issue then, why HP has mentioned on its website that compatible version of 202A for MFP281fdn is available in India ?
5) HP should clearly mention on its website that no compatible cartridge for MFP281fdn available in India.

Being a regular customer of HP, I feel cheated from HP and I have lost my faith in its credibility.

Hi Shlomil,

Thanks for your support. Your suggestion for NVRAM reset worked. Initially when I tried, my country was not mentioned in the list of regions shown in the printer, then I tried accepting countries one by one as you suggested and tried NVRAM reset, luckily it accepted one country and the cartridges of my region are now compatible.

I am surprised, as even the HP engineer visited onsite and he couldn't do the reseat and he made a report that the printer cannot be used in this region.

I sincerely thank for your support and your suggestions.
