Do not want to buy a whole new laserjet.  Can't seem to find information on a duplexer for this unit so just want to make sure if there is or isn't one available.

Thanks.

Hi,

Driver is the software thing, normally that means it will print all odd pages for you in the right order then you have to turn papers manualy to allow it prints even pages on the right order.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

There are few models for this series:

Duplex printing (printing on both sides of paper)CP4525xh / CP4525dn: Automatic (standard)
CP4525n: Manual (driver support provided)

Please check and select the right one for your need.

Regards.

Thanks for your response.

I believe here at work we are using the CP4525n so it does not do double-sided printing.  I notice it says "driver support provided"? Does that mean it can be turned into a double-side printing unit by buying the part needed?

I haven't found anything online that points me to what exactly I need to do to make this unit print double side..

Some Simplex LaserJet models cannot (easily or cheaply) be converted to Duplex units, even if a duplex unit is obtained from a duplex model.

This certainly applied to the Colour LaserJet 4600; I've no idea whether or not it applies to your model.

With the CLJ 4600, the reason was that the formatter board needed replacing to support duplex; something to do with details stored in NVRAM?

Found this post while doing some researching and after reading it decided to put out a little more information on the 4600 that was mentioned in the previous reply.

In the color LaserJet 4600 all the hardware for duplexing is already there so if you get the formatter that came out of a scrap duplex machine and install it in the printer you instantly have a duplex model.
