A yellow shadow or haze on every printout with an HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M775 usually indicates a failing yellow toner cartridge or a color calibration misalignment.

Run a Color Calibration
On the printer's control panel, go to: Administration > Troubleshooting > Calibration / Cleaning > Color Calibration. Choose Full Calibration Now (not Quick).  Allow it to run completely, as this resets the color density sensors and realigns the color planes on the transfer belt.

Inspect or Replace the Yellow Cartridge  If calibration does not fix the shadow, the internal imaging drum or cleaning blade inside the Yellow Toner Cartridge is likely worn or leaking electrical charge, causing toner to deposit across the page.

  • Remove the yellow cartridge and gently rock it side-to-side to redistribute the toner.
  • If the shadow persists or repeats at exact measured intervals (such as every 1.3 inches or 3.0 inches), “the yellow print cartridge is damaged. Replace the yellow print cartridge with a new yellow print cartridge.”
