LaserJet 5N C3952A
Microsoft Windows XP

Good morning, I am finishing the restoration of a LaserJet 5N (it is one of my little hobbies). The printer is now working properly and is connected to a network via its Jetdirect J2550B card with A.05.05 firmware. The network adapter and the printer works regularly, printing is done smoothly. I wanted to upgraded its firmware to version A.08.49; I use the Download Manager version 04.30, with which I have already updated the firmware of a JetDirect 300X without any problem. When I launch device search from the Download Manager program, to upgrade the firmware of J2550B, I get the answer that no JetDirect device is detected. Can you please help me? I remain fully available to give anyone else the information they need to solve my problem. Thanks in advance to all of you. Pierluigi Mariani

I solved. If anyone is interested, in terms of curiosity, I explain how. On the web, I managed to find a previous version of the Download Manager, precisely the A.02.25. I also found an intermediate version of the firmware for the JetDirect J2550B, the A.08.20. The old Download Manager immediately recognized the Jetdirect card and so I upgraded the firmware to version A.08.20. Later, I launched the Download Manager A.04.30, who also recognized the Jetdirect card; with this release I upgraded the firmware of J2550B to the latest version, the A.08.49. Pierluigi Mariani
