hp color laserjet cp1215
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Our charity's office has an hp color laserjet cp1215. A person with access to the printer is convinced that he can place laminating pouches through the printer. I tactfully suggested that laser printers are not intended for laminating, but he insists on going ahead. I have just downloaded the manual for the hp color laserjet cp1215 and no-where does is say that laminating pouches can be fed through. Transparencies yes, but no mention of laminates.

Can anyone confirm this and also what might happen should laminating be attempted with the laser printer.

I would not even suggest this.If it is not in the machine specifications then it is not recommended. As far as i think this will seriously damage the fuser unit. And the paper feed will also give problems feeding this pouches.

It is up to yourself but i this i would not consider,Hope this helps.

In response to my question I received an email fm HP technical support giving me a phone number to contact their support. I went ahead and phoned, presented my query and was surprised to be informed that yes, this is possible if the correct driver/software is installed. Despite this I personally remain with the same opinion as you Copier-Pro. Howwever, the person intent on feeding laminates through the printer insists he knows better. I have since passed on my concerns to the person in charge. I'm not sure if this resolves the issue for anyone else with the same query. I certainly wouldn't feed a laminate through my own personal colour laser printer. Thank you for your feedback nonetheless!
