Hi @paul_faraianu,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP Laser MFP M139w is blinking a yellow exclamation point typically means the printer is in an error state (like a false paper jam or connection failure) after the power outage.

Follow these specific steps to get your HP LaserJet MFP M139w back online:

1. Plug Directly into the Wall & Perform a Power Reset

Surge protectors can trap printers in error loops after power fluctuations.

  • Unplug the printer's power cord directly from the wall outlet.

  • Press and hold the physical power button on the printer for 15 seconds to drain any residual power.

  • Wait about 30 seconds, then plug it directly back into a working wall outlet.

2. Use the HP App's Fix Tool:

Use the HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site (available for Windows and Mac) to resolve stuck states.

  • Open the app, select your printer, and click on Printer Settings.

  • Click on the Diagnose & Fix tool. This utility is designed to automatically clear jammed paper sensors and reset offline connectivity errors.

3. Factory Reset the Printer (if the light keeps blinking):

If the app doesn't clear the yellow exclamation point, you can perform a hard reset using the control panel:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.

  • Wait 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

  • Press and hold the Up and Cancel buttons at the same time.

  • While still holding those buttons, press the Power button to turn the printer on.

  • Release all buttons when a message displaying "nv" appears on the control panel. The printer will automatically restart.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
