M277dw

Laser jet m277dw 201A toner cartridge stuck on right hand side. Seems free to track on left but gets stuck on right. Using the blue handle the cartridge slides out 1 1/2 inches and no further. The other cartridge jam advice (for a left side jam) was just a cut and paste from the manual which doesn’t really help when you are unable to complete step 2

To help the rest of the community who have only received responses that are effectively “read the manual” I just wanted to share my rectification method.

By the way the private message the support person sent was only private because they mentioned that my warranty had expired coincidentally hiding their other advice which was “I don’t know take it into a repair shop”

Method:

so not really a method this is just what a remember doing in my frustration whilst considering throwing it out the window. I can’t replicate it as the tray is unstuck and hasn’t jammed since.

So what I did was hold the tray in the jammed position and then repeatedly raise and lower the front cover/door as it shifts the cartridge tray up and down with a slight amount of fore and back movement. Ostensibly I wiggled it!

after doing this a few times I slid the tray back in closed the door waiting for the switch on cycle to complete and then repeated. At one point I added side pressure whilst pumping the fnt door; both towards the jam and away.

The level of pressure I used was enough to secure in jammed position but not enough to rip the blue handle off. Btw you can pop the handle back on very easily if you like me had a minor panic when it did it the first time and no that is not the reason the cartridge jammed!

basically after doing this 4 times with a full power off and power in between 2&3 rd round the tray became unjammed.

TADAH

yeh sorry not very scientific or precise but all I can remember of the specifics... I was rather peeved at the time!
