Laser jet Pr 200 color M251nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Laserjet Pro 200 printer.  Cyan ink cartridge was low so I purchased a new cartridge from the local office supply store.  Printer recognizes cartridge and shows it as full, but it does not print blue.  The test supply page shows empty boxes for the cyan cartridge.  No blue color in the boxes.  Yellow toner is now empty and it prints in black. Shows 90% full using black toner.  Tried HP help line and although they tried, they could not help.  Contacted the store and they replaced the cartridge and the new one does not work either.  I have seen an archived post on this same topic and the solution was to replace the cartridge. Could two in a row be bad?

answers to possible question: yes cartridges are in the right order.  I replaced magenta at the same time and it works fine. They are HP cartridges, toner dam was pulled, roller behind front one does show blue coating.

Try printing a cleaning page and check if that helps

  1. From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Setup  button.

  2. Touch the Service menu.

  3. Touch the Cleaning Page button.

  4. Load plain letter or A4 paper when you are prompted.

  5. Touch the OK button to begin the cleaning process.

  6. The product prints the first side and then prompts you to remove the page from the output bin and reload it in Tray 1, keeping the same orientation (the side with the black stripe should be face-down with the arrow toward the back of the product).

  7. Press the OK button to continue the cleaning process. Wait until the process is complete. Discard the page that prints.

If the issue persists, please contact HP Support for Service Options since you already replaced the cartridges

Thank you KrazyToad.  I do apologize for the delay in following through, but was out of town welcoming my new grandson, and first grandson to the family.  I have performed the operations that you suggested - three times now.  When I started, the printer had run out of yellow toner and switched to black and white mode.  Ran the clean and printed the supply status report and using black ink, it showed 50% black, 90% cyan, 80% magenta, and --% yellow.  The little squares with 6 dots in a triangle all printed in shades of gray.  I replaced the yellow cartridge today and it is back to printing in color.  I ran the clean cycle, printed the supply page and everything printed in appropriate color except blue.  The black text still shows 90% cyan, but no blue toner came out to fill in the square or the status bar.  I repeated those two steps and got the same outcome.

I do thank you for the response and will proceed with the support service group.
