Laser jet pro will not recognize the paper tray 2, which has always been the default

All of a sudden I get error message that media is needed. Problem started when print job was sent from a windows computer and error message to load paper in tray 1, tray 2 has always been the default selection.  And had paper loaded (door closed all good there)  I tried to send job from Mac, running Catalina, and was successful.  tried again from PC, same issue.  Now error message on Mac needs media.  Is there a way to specify use tray 2?

99% of the time this error is generated by a mis-match between the media that the print job is asking for and what media settings you have on the printer. For instance, you are printing a document and the program wants to print on letterhead but you have plain letter loaded in the printer and that is how the tray is set from the control panel of the printer so the load tray 1 error will come up because the printer is waiting for you to put letterhead in tray 1. 

From the control panel of the printer, check and make sure that the tray is set for the media you have loaded, in most cases plain letter or A4 depending on geography. Next check the printer preferences on the print driver and make sure that the default paper size and type is set to plain letter. 

I have found that some of the driver installations are defaulting to hp-eco as the paper type.
