Tray 1 (Manual Feed Slot) on LJ 1320 (LJ 1160, LJ 3390 etc.) started to mis feed 100% of time No Print. Problem was tray 1 Solenoid.
Solenoid was GOOD except for small BLACK bumper pad on the solenoid frame had become gummy and would hold the solenoid down for a second or two when de-energized. The tray 2 solenoid had a different light brown bumper pad that worked fine.
I replaced the black gummy bumper pad on the solenoid frame with a small felt pad and now the printer is 100%.
I only bring this up because I found no where on any HP site to bring this issue up to HP QC people.
This rubbery bumper material should not be used on ANY solenoids as it becomes gummy and causes solenoids to stick in their on position.
I can't imagine how many printers have failed due to this small inexpensive issue.

Which felt material did you use? Where did you buy it and how did you apply it (epoxy, pre-attached adhesive, etc)?
Thanks!
I've used the black-electrical tape method, 3 layers, but noticed the L-shaped arm still has a very slight tendency to "stick" for just a fraction of a second, enough to cause the jam issue.
