Laserjet 5200tn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a LaserJet 5200tn which always paper jams when I send a batch of prints. It will successfully do approx. the first 4 or 5 but then will jam. It appears that the prints are being processed too quickly, before one has finished leaving the other starts and jams. I understand that there is no specific driver for windows 10, and have the driver HP Universal Printing PCL 6 installed.

Any help would be appreciated as I often send 100+ prints and has always worked fine before the switch to windows 10.

The first best step is to eliminate the physical printer as a source of the problem. To do this you should perform a multiple page job from the Control Panel.  The paper path test or PCL font sample page will allow you to print a multiple page job. If that works fine then you can look to the driver on the computer for the source of the problem.  Make sure that paper sizes are set properly to match paper actually loaded in the printer.

If the control panel print test fails then you likely have either a worn pickup roller that is delaying paper feed or a sticking solenoid on the pickup assembly.

If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution easier by marking my post as an accepted solution. Clicking "yes" on "was this reply helpful" also increases the chances that this solution will help others.

Thank you. The batch print failed at control panel stage. Do you know of I can still buy parts for this.

You should be able to find either OEM or 3rd party rollers but re-reading you description leaves me with the impression that you have a sticking pick up solenoid and that will simply require you to remove the solenoid, clean the old foam bumper off it and replace the bumper. I have also seen instructions where users have simply inserted folded paper into the solenoid to prevent sticking. If you Google "sticking solenoid HP printer" you will find a wealth of information. Additionally you can purchase a service manual front feedroller.com for a couple of bucks that will help with taking apart and reassembling.

Found the solenoid. Cleaned off sticky substance, wrapped small amount of paper tape so bar was parallel to solenoid. Re-assembled and now yhe printer batch plots. Thank you
