Thank you for joining the HP Support Community

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you please help me with the exact model name or the product number and the operating system of the computer.

Do you see any error message?

Keep me posted.

Cheers:)

Hi!

My printer is a HP LaserJet CM1415fnw Color MFP.  I'm using Windows 8.1.  Everything worked fine when I had the "old" Time Warner Cable equipment with a seperate router.  Now, with Spectrum, it is inclded with the modem and each time I try to put it on the network it tells me I have an "Invalid WPA Passphrase" but all other equipment is on the same new network with no problems.

I have set the printer back to factory settings, I have unistalled and reinstalled the drivers.  I"ve called Spectrum and had a technician come out to address another issue and he looked it as well to no avail.

I know there has to be a simple step I am missing, but I'm going insane trying to figre it out.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!

Note: Check the router band: Many routers can operate in both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequency bands, but not all HP printers support both bands. Make sure the 2.4 GHz router band is enabled and broadcasting. If the router broadcasts separate network names (SSIDs) for each band, connect the printer to the 2.4 GHz band SSID.

Update firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-cm1415-color-multifunction-printer-series/40891...

Restart the printer.

Let's try to Resets all network configurations to their factory defaults.

  1. Click on the wrench icon the control panel and select network setup.
  2. Select Restore Defaults and follow the instruction.

Try to connect the printer to the network.

  • You can also connect the printer using the USB and the change the connection to wireless connection.

Okay, the router does have 2 different bands, the printer only picks up the 2.4 though.

I updated the firmware for the printer using the provided link, but I get this error message and am unable to continue.

I will gladly take any other suggestions!

Thank you!!!

Let's try resetting the printer to the default setting by performing a reset on the printer.

I have sent you a private message, to perform NVRAM reset on the printer that cannot be shared in a public post.

Can you please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Have a great day!
