We have a customer with a LaserJet M551 which is displaying the error 57.00.02 on the display and it is really baffling us.
We have checked the service manual and there is no mention of this error for this device.
We have searched online and see that the error in other HP machines is normally to do with the fans. So we have changed all the fans in the device but the error still persists.
Just wondering if anyone else has come across this error for this model of machine before.
Thanks Stephen.

Turn the product off, and then on. Listen for fan noise at the left side of the product. If no noise is heard, replace the cartridge fan (FM2).
If this part has been removed or replaced, check the connector (J26) on the cartridge fan, connector (J262) on the high-voltage power supply (lower), and the connector (J114) on the DC controller.
Measure the voltage between the connectors (J262-1 and J262-3) on the high-voltage power supply (lower) immediately after the product power is turned on. If the voltage changes from 0 VDC to approximately 24 VDC, replace the fan (FM2).
Fans FM2 and FM3 can be swapped to help isolate the issue. It is rare and unlikely but in the event connections are good, the Fan 2 has been replaced and the error still persists, the HVPS-D may be damaged, replace it (HP Part #: RM1-8087-000CN).

Thanks for the reply,
All fans have been replaced and all connections checked to make sure they are seated correctly but the error continues.
Its strange that the printer is able to generate the error but that the service manual doesn't give any mention of it.
I have another machine that is the same model in the workshop which had a different issue that the cutsomer wasn't willing to spend the money on the repair so we got it as a parts machine so I will test with the part you mentioned and see if that resolves the issue before ordering the RM1-8087-000CN part.
Thanks Stephen

Number 4 seems incorrect. The part number that matches that is the high voltage supply. If that were damaged, I think you'd see problems with a lot more things. The DC controller is in between the high voltage and the fans right? It would more likely be that. Let me know if that's incorrect.
