I have reflashed the printer firmware, cycled the printer on and off, re-installed the Mac printer driver. Printing almost anything containing jpeg or png images from Preview, Pages, or Adobe Photoshop takes up to 20 minutes per page. Same printer works normal and quickly from an older iMac on High Sierra, where printing a big jpeg normally takes no more than half a minute.

Problem resolved. HP has realeased a firmware update. https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-color-laserjet-pro-m452-series/7326532...
I did have to connect the printer using Ethernet to the local net; the firmware updater app failed to find the printer when connected via USB. Then use the "Manually" option to find the printer by IP address number flashing on the printer display panel.

We just purchased a brand new HP printer for our small office couple of days ago. HP LaserJet Pro M452dw Wireless Color Laser Printer with Duplex Printing (CF394A). Last HP printer died after 5 years. Our IT guy came in and can not get it to print. called HP support, was told that it should work, just install a generic driver, maybe it's just a bad quality machine, return it and get a new one. We did. New printer came in, same issue all over again, can not get it to print. It keeps pausing, resuming, can't find printer....
I was very happy to see the link above for a firmware update, unfortunately, the link does not work anymore.
We're Mac based office, everyone is on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.4, except mine is Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6.
anyone has any solutions, please help. otherwise, it is going to be returned.
