HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Here's a photo of the color cartridge tray that does not go in any more.

The problem is the left side. There's something that prevents pushing the tray in. I do not want to use force when pushing, because I believe it's a matter of honor for HP to build devices that operate smoothly. (The problem emerged when trying to change the black color cartridge -- now the tray does not go in regardlass of which black cartridge is in the tray.)

Please give me advice what to do? (This is my mother's printer actually. If you suggest me to try something, it does not happen quickly, because I live one hour apart from my mother.)

Thanks in advance.

PS. The remaining warranty period = 10 months.

Hi I would like to assist to the best of my ability to solve your problem.I hope the information i supply will be of help.

Try and remove all the cartridges and try to close the drawer.Should this work and the door closes.Switch off the machine and restart the machine.Once the machine ask for the toner replace and try to close the door.IT Might just be that one of the motors is not properly in line and should reset this way.Hope this will help.

HP Expert, thank you for a reasonable suggestion!

We try to fix the problem this way in the following days. (I will inform how it worked later on.)

I finally tried HP Expert's solution suggestion, AND IT WORKED.

Something was magically fixed after pushing the empty tray into the device and switching electricity on. When I inserted the cartridges back into their proper places, the tray slided smoothly in.

Thank you very much!
