Hi,

I just purchased this printer and already disappointed with it.

When I finish the initial setup , I got error message on the screen as "Incompatible Supplies" , in case toners come with the printer!

Run the diagnostic but did not find something useful , so I decided to contact the customer support. But which one ?!

1. Local /country/ HP support : despite it was during the working hours nobody answered me. /Ticket created/

2. Global HP support : Using the chat I contacted to some uncommunicative individual , which did not help me at all, and just diverted me to some other local support , providing me some phone numbers, and when I tried to dial it, it say "these numbers do not exist". So I am stuck. No local , no global support, and I have a piece of useless stuff called HP Color Laserjet Pro" ...

3. Contacted Facebook support page - No answer and complete useless.

Hey HP where are you ?! Where did the well-paid and skilled technicians go? I cant reach anyone ..

Please advice me what to do . To scrap it, and to avoid using HP anymore, or you may offer me a real and working and reachable HP technical support ?! , or to return it to HP re-seller and to  swear I will not use this product again ?

Please advice.

2 questions:

  1. Did the printer arrive in the original packaging?
  2. The toner cartridges were already installed?
  3. Where was the printer purchased?
  4. Print the supplies status page
    1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, select the Setup menu.
    2. Select Reports.
    3. Select Supplies Status.

Take a picture of this page with your phone, copy it to your computer, and upload it here.

Regards, keep me posted.

Hi Andreas,

Thank You for your answer.

So here are my answers :

1. Yes , the printer is completely new, just opened it.

2. The cartridges were already installed.

3. Purchased from European Union country . This is similar as US, many states in a single EU country , with the same currency used 🙂

4.  "Supplies status" not working. When I press it , the printer start working /noise from the motors/ for 1-2 sec, and stop without any other additional error code shown , so unable to print this report , and none of the report menus working too, including the "demo" .

But I used printer gui , to create some screenshots as well.

Seen from it , there is region mismatch , which is strange , because the Printer is purchased in EU , and used in EU. During the initial setup I choose a country from EU , which do not match the country of purchase, It is really matter ? if yes, why ?Event_log.jpgSupplies_status.jpgcartriges.jpg

So, this could be some regional setting, but I am unable to do it again. Tried already "factory setting" but it not working.

Hi Andreas,

Thank You for your answer

So there are my answers too:

1. Yes, the printer arrived in original package, as I purchased it as new. I have also the invoice.

2. The toner cartriges were already installed.

3. Printer is purchased in a country in European Union.

4. This option do not cause any activity of the printer. Just nothing

That is why I used the Printer GUI to obtain this information.

Seen from the event log , printer cartridges do not match its region. Which is weird, because I choose a country in European Union, not USA, or Asia.

During the initial setup I put a random country from EU, which did not matched the purchase country, as it is in EU too.

Here are some screenshots :

I tried already to reset the printer to "factory settings" but seems it have limited option, and I as a owner of this device, don't have full control of it.

Any solution ?

Hi HighWay,

we have a country problem here!

You need the Serialnumber (for check!), than please contact HP support team in your region for help.
Thanks for understanding!

Never publish serial number here in the forum!

Hi Andreas,

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

I will contact of course , thank you for the information. Hope this issue will be solved.

This formally raised another questions, may be not technical but ethical .

1. I was not aware that any HP device is country restricted /locked/. This do not exist anywhere in the product description. If I knew this in advance I would definitely choose another product.

2. Even I paid for it , I still do not own the device, but device own me, trying to lock me in a limited area only. Pity ..

3. There is nothing in the manual according this country limitation, but for sure users should be aware.

4. Users should not be able to "brick" their devices using its menu . This is serious gap in the firmware. Users should be allowed to fix this setting without customer support.

My conclusion:

I will decide to keep or return the product during the next few days, reading careful what kind of surprises  HP still have for me. I just noticed that LCD touch screen not always responding to the touches, still not figure out is it a kind of bug, or it is hardware issue, because the device is still not operational.

This is only the first day of my device usage, I'm afraid to think about what might happen tomorrow 🙂 Finger cross 🙂

Regards,

HighWay
