Laserjet Pro M608X
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello HP Community, I have an HP Laserjet Pro M608X, networked, stuck on initializing. The only thing I can do is unplug the thing. I have done that, removed the ethernet, and the toner. no Luck. Is there anything else I can do? It is under warranty but I am hoping I can just get it back up and running now.

Thanks

If you have followed the steps you indicate you have pretty much done all you can do without getting into technician rated, low level troubleshooting. It could be a corrupted firmware, you could try updating the firmware through the preboot menu. Download the current firmware from support.hp.com and copy it to a FAT32 formatted usb stick. Then, turn off the printer, turn it on and watch the screen. You need to touch the HP logo just when you see a black line appear under it. This will take you to the preboot menu. go to administrator, download and select USB stick and you will be prompted to insert the usb key in the port on the front of the printer. When it shows the file on the screen, press OK and the file will be downloaded. Once it says complete, use the back key until screen says continue. Remove the key, press ok and unit will and automatically update the firmware. Once complete, unit should come to ready. If it does not, then you likely have a hardware issue. You can also find detailed firmware update instructions if you download the readme file from the the website where you downloaded the firmware from.
