Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After setting the Scan to E-mall setup, the printer will not stay in sleep mode; every 60 seconds it goes into sleep mode and comes back on about 10 secs later automatically. Went in and reset sleep mode to 60 secs again, but still comes back on. I tried pulling the power cord for 60 secs, but has not solved the issue.

Please try these steps

- Turn on the printer.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer. If your printer has a network or wireless connection, leave it connected.
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
- Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.

Also ensure the printer has the latest firmware. Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Also try assigning a Static IP Address

1) Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
2) Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
3) Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
4) Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
5) Click Manual IP
6) If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.
7) If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.

Keep me posted 😊

Thanks for replying. Sadly, the printer shut down about an hour ago and will now not power up at all, so not sure what to do here. Checked the power cord nd connection, btu will not turn on.

okay, got it working.

Ran thru the steps above one more time; that got the printer back on with the sleep mode glitch, then downloaded th latest firmware for this model and that got it working correctly again.

Will now reset Scan to Email and see if it causes any issues.

Thanks for helping, appreciate it!
