Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw printer connected via WiFi to several MacOS/iOS devices all with latest software (10.12.15/10.3.2).  Printer PostScript Driver 19.13, firmware datecode 20160921. Nothing prints the following file properly:

The Macs print the odd logo, line, and chart. The iPhone prints the document layout properly, but the font is peculiarly compressed and largely illegible.

Other print tasks seem to be OK.

Hello, @CVRD – Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

I understand that you are having trouble printing a particular PDF file on your LaserJet printer. I would suggest you download the particular PDF file and then open the file using the Adobe reader on your MAC. It could be possible that the file is printing via browser and creating issues. So, download and open the file using the Adobe Reader and check.

If you are facing issues while printing via Adobe Reader, then try the step below:

  • Choose File > Print, and then click Advanced.
  • Select Print as Image.
  • Click OK to close the Advanced Print Setup dialog box, and then click OK to print.

Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

Good luck 🙂

Upon discussion with Apple, it seems to be a Safari problem. I try not to use Adobe products as I disagree with their business practices, so I won't be adding Adobe Reader to my Applications. Why would I want to since I already have "Preview"?

However, it turns out that using Firefox opens and prints the page just fine. Also, coverting the .pdf to a .png file works as well.

I will post to Apple's Feedback page to let them know of the issue.

Thanks for your help.
