My Laserjet 4p has just started to jam up. Even when printing just one page it seems that another page starts and gets jammed resulting in a paper jam. Not sure how to resolve this.

Hi @ajuga,
I understand you are having Paper Jam issues on your HP LaserJet 4P Printer. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you, before you could make up your mind to purchase a new printer.
Let's try these steps here:
Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
Remove all the papers and then perform a Hard reset on the printer.
* With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
* Remove USB cable, if present.
* Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
* Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
* Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
* Now just insert 1 paper and then try to print and wait for it completes the path and check if it works.
Similarly, you could try with 10 papers and then try to make blank copies and check if it works.
Let me know how it goes for further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.

Thank you so much Jeet. I have followed your instructions and my printer is now working again. I am really pleased as I was told that it would never work again by my computer 'expert'. This is such a good and helpful forum. Thanks once again for your advice.
