Upon further research, I was informed that the Formatter Board is probably going bad and to just throw it out.

We have HP Laser Jet 4050s from 17 years ago that still work.  Here is a printer that is only a couple of years old and already it is done.

In addition we just found out that the printer went off Warranty on 3 May 2015.   Normally we would have bought the 3 year warranty which would have had the end date of 3 May 2017 so glad that we did not.
