Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently purchased, somehow managed to get wifi connected once. Since, never connects.

I have also tried the WPS on my router and that does not find it (used this for other devices with no issue).

Downloaded drivers for window 10 and tried with USB cable connected, this "HP Easy Start" (inappropriate name right now) fails to find ANY wifi SSID, my own two (2.4 and 5.0 network) or weak neighbours signal.

App locks for ages. I tried manually entering SSID but still fails to find.

I have tried changing my 2.4 channel, still fails to find.

The "easy start" then decides to just crash with no error on the continue button press.

What am I missing?

I have had other printers, I add mobiles, tablets, TVs etc to my network with no problems.

Close to returning

Already been there.

Tried Doctor app etc.

Steps not helped plus some don't cover win 10.

I know my way around a PC and router. I also set static IP for printer through app and my router. Does not seem to matter what I do; every time need printer end up going through a turn off/on cycle and playing with settings in printer properties till comes alive. (Usually the multiple Off/On and pressing wifi button eventually get it active).

Thanks for replying!

Add the printer using IP address-

1.  Select “Start” and type “printers” in the search box.

2.  Choose “Printers & scanners“.

3.   elect “Add a printer or scanner“.

4.  Wait for the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option to appear, then select it.

5.   Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname”, then select “Next“.

6.   select “TCP/IP Device” in the “Device type” list.

7.  Type the hostname or the IP address of the printer. Select “Next“. To find the IP address of the printer, touch the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel.

8.  Windows should find the printer if the printer is on and configured correctly. You may have to specify more information. If prompted, select the type of network adapter installed in the printer in the “Device Type” drop-down list. You can also click “Custom” to specify custom settings for the network printer. Select “Next“.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Already set static IP on printer.

Setting on my one Win 10 PC is a part fix. I bought the WIFI printer so could use with my other devices. Other PCs, mobiles and tablets.

The wifi not remembering is the problem, not one PC. All devices see as offline until spent 10-20 minutes turning off and on again.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

You may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best. You can contact your ISP for help.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
