LaserjetPrio M203
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ever since I changed my toner cartridge from a 30A to a new HP30X, the printer makes a clicking sound when printing, and the page prints very faintly, if at all.  The old cartridge worked fine before it I replaced it.

I tried re-inserting the cartridge but it still makes a clicking sound when it cycles through.

The printer is only about 3 months old

Hello, @srbill – Hope you are well 🙂

Welcome back to the HP Forums, I'd be happy to help you with your printer issue!

I understand that you are facing issues after replacing the cartridges. Try to follow the steps listed here to try and fix the issue: HP LaserJet Pro, Ultra Printers - 'Out of Paper' Displays, Printer Does Not Pick Paper

The document says, “out of paper”, but the steps are the same for the issue that you are facing. Once done, follow this document to replace the toner: HP LaserJet Pro, Ultra M102-M106, M203 Printers - Replacing the Toner Cartridge

If the issue persists, then please contact the HP phone support to get the printer service options.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

That should help. Let me know!

Cheers 🙂
