Any suggestions on how to fix this? It seems like it happened a few years back and was fixed, not working now.

Hi @TOMAZ511,

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdw shows a “Certificate expired” message when trying to print. This usually relates to security certificates used for encrypted connections (HTTPS/IPP) or internal printer services. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the date and time on the printer
– Go to the printer control panel → Settings → Date & Time.
– Ensure the date, time, and time zone are correct, as expired certificates often occur when the printer clock is off.

Update printer firmware
– Outdated firmware can trigger certificate errors.
– Visit the HP Support site → enter your printer model → download and install the latest firmware.

Restart the printer
– Power off the printer, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
– This can refresh the certificate system after an update.

Reset network and web services (if needed)
– On the printer, go to Settings → Network → Restore Network Defaults.
– Re-enable Web Services / ePrint to refresh internal certificates.

Check your computer or print driver settings
– Make sure your print driver is up-to-date.
– Re-add the printer after firmware and network resets to ensure the certificate syncs properly.

I hope this helps.
