1022n printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

1022n printer recently stopped printing the last page of a print job.  In addition, the middle green light of the right side keeps blinking after a print job.  Nothing will print after that until I clear the blinking light.

When I look at "what is printing", the last print job shows as "printing".

To stop the light from blinking, I cancel the print job and turn off the printer.

I have removed the printer, downloaded the latest drivers, and reinstalled the printer.  Get the same results.

There are no errors reported when I open the print manager.

I have tried using the HP Print and Scan Doctor", but it does not detect nor correct the problem.

This only happens on one computer.  The printer works fine with the other printer on the network.

What suggestions might one offer.

I wonder if the print manager is corrupt somehow.  Could that be the problem?  If so, how to correct that?

As I understand the last page of the print job isn't printing anymore,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did you identify what those blink codes represent and work accordingly?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:
(Since the printer works fine with other devices on the network, this is not an issue with the printer, merely an issue with the drivers).

The lights on the front panel of the product indicate the product status. These lights can be on, off, or flashing, depending on the product status. The following sections describe the most common combinations of flashing lights, what they mean, and how to fix the issue.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

If the issue persist, please try this:

  • Press "Windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window.
  • Type "services.msc" to get Services - Go to "Print spooler" - Right-click and "Stop" the service.
  • Now again open "Run" - Type "spool" and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
  • Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
  • Now check for issue resolution.
  • If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel - Programs and feature - Select all the HP printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel - Devices and printer - Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type - "c:/programdata" - Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.

Then, use this link to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it: CLICK HERE

Thanks for your reply.  To resolve the issue I had to delete all the previous files and printers and reinstall the printer.  I had never deleted old printers that I no longer own.  So I was able to clean out old files as well.  Everything works as it should now.

Thanks again.
