Hi,

I'm trying to use a 3rd party toner but imI receiving a message that it's incompatible.  I've googled to find there is supposed to be a compatibility feature I can disable via the EWS.  I've looked at the EWS but do not see that option.  I also updated the driver (via the EWS) but still don't see the option.

Any help appreciated.

Thx -Rob

The printer driver does not change anything in the EWS. You can ensure that your firmware is up to date as that will change the EWS if any changes have been made. You can also contact the vendor you purchased this cartridge from to see if they have data chips that are compatible.

Thx, appreciate the response.  The toner I bought is supposed to be compatible.  Everything I find online indicates hp has a feature that prevents 3rd party toners (for protection), yet the option they refer to doesn't exist (afaik) on the EWS.  Would like to know if that feature is enabled on my printer or perhaps I truly have an incompatible toner.

Thx
