I service a large rehab hospital with multiple locations. The issue is, I have had service calls on new M608's with as little 1600 pages on them, for light print on the right side. I open the rear door and remove and reseat the secondary transfer roller and the light print on the right side has been corrected. There is no evidence of broken/distorted parts , but simply reseating the roller fixes the issue. There are about 6 of these printers in different locations and 5 of the 6 have had the problem. On the first printer I had the problem with, I replaced the secondary transfer roller assembly after having a second call on the same machine about 4 weeks after the first call. It has now been 6 weeks or more and the problem has not returned. Anyone heard of this issue? Possibly a manufacturing problem with the secondary transfer assembly causing intermiitent loss of contact with the paper causing the light printing on the right side? I have checked with a few laser parts reseller's tech support and they have heard of, but not seen the problem. When they act up configuration pages and print quality troubleshooting page exhibit the same light print as client's print jobs. Users have new HP cartridges in the machine

Hello
As you told that you r getting light print on right side only
Then you need to check with toner , try with diff set iof toner , and if changing toner resolved issue , u can take the currecnt geniun toner to ARC center and get it checked and get other toner whihc s working ,
also if u have tried with diff cartridge and issue is still same
perfrom print stop test on printer in troblehsooting menu - diagnoistis menu - and choose prnt stop test - and choose- 600 and once print comes check if its same - thne its either Laser scanner
need to contact svc for service .

Hello
Thanks for your post
I havent heard any issue related to the secondary transfer roller on this model
I understand from your post that reseating the transfer roller fixes the issue. Have you verified that the transfer roller is seated correctly. Need to ensure that the pin on each end is aligned in the grooves of the transfer assembly. ANd when you press down on each end , ensure it snaps into place. Also did you compare the ends of the new transfer roller received with the original one?
I have attached a document showing the intall procedure.
Thanks
I hope this information helps.
Good Luck!

Roller is seated properly before and after removal. There is some kind of weird issue going on here. 5 out of 6 machines
indicates a trend. The tech people I've talked to point to the secondary tranfer roller assembly with the tranfer roller losing contact with the paper hence the light print. I am looking for an engineering perspective as to the cause. Either the springs in the transfer roller assembly are underdesigned and the roller is bouncing, or the tranfer roller has some kind of chemical\electrical issue and losing charge on the right side and the ability to attract toner to paper. New toner makes no difference. As stated I know what fixes it, but would like to find out the root cause. I am an experienced repair tech with over 35 years experience on HP Laserjets and feel this is an engineering problem.

I wanted to chime in on this problem. I have 2 M608 printers having this issue. Of course I tried replacing the toner but that didnt help.
It is a transfer roller issue.
I reseated the transfer roller (Why do they call it as secondary transfer roller, it's the only one?) and then it prints normally if you are looking at the Configuration page it is light on the right side.
However it is actually the left side of the "machine" that the print is light because of the way the print jobs come out of the printer. If you have resolvwed this issue please post the fix. I am going to order x2 Transfer roller assemblies. Was that a tough Job? It didnt look too bad but....
Thanks for posting this, I was thinking i was going mad!
