HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am a satisfied user of a HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dn laserprinter. The only problem I have is that I have lost the admin password. I would like to reset it to factory default but when I try to do it using the LCD panel (Config->Service), it asks me for this password.

I would be very happy if someone could help me to reset my printer to factory default.

Thanks

Emmanuel

I have found a working solution here:

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/How-do-I-reset-the-secure-password-or-do-a-Factory-Re...

Let me copy the answer here, just in case you can't follow the link:

Cold reset for HP LaserJet Pro M225dn:

  1. Press and hold Power On button until the printer shut down.
  2. Press Cancel button and Left arrow and hold down and then press Power On button.
  3. Hold until "Permanent Storage Init" message appears. (This takes about 10 secs)

It works like a charm
