Hi, I was wondering if you guys can help me. I have a HP LaserJet Pro M254dw and it will not pick up new toner cartridges - it just says supply memory error.
The last set of toners worked perfectly fine, but on the last job, we had a strip of black toner on the edge of page (hence why getting new toners). Now, my question is, would this black strip have caused a layer of toner on the inside of the printer so that new toners cannot be picked up? If so, can I clean it off?

Supply memory error means either the cartridge is not installed correctly or has a defective chip.
Try removing the cartridge and inspecting it for damage or packaging material. Sometimes folks forget to remove the orange plastic that holds the cartridge together in the packaging. Make sure the cartridge is clicked into place like the others.
If the chip is bad then return it to the supplier you purchased it from. They can explain the return, rebate or swap out policy that they provide to you.
