HP Laserjet M607
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have 2 M607 printers on location.   All of the sudden one of them has started printing slowly...about 3 sec per page instead of the 1 sec per page it has done since we bought it.  The second printer is still running fast as expected and has no issues.  I did a factory reset on the slow printer and it fixed it for about a day, but now back to slow.  Now factory resting does not make any difference.  I have updated the firmware on the slow printer and it did not help.  It is slow on all computers that print to it.

I don't think it is a driver issue as on my computer I tried both printers with the exact same driver, just changing the IP address for the port and one is fast wile the other is still slow.

Can anybody please help me figure this out?

Thanks,

Thanks or all the suggestions.  Finally figured it out.  Kind of embarrassing really.  The paper guide in the paper try was moved off of the "letter / 11"" position.  Moved it back, works like new now.

When you print internal pages from the printer front panel are they printed slow or not?

Yes, pages printed internally, directly from the printer menu are also slow on the one unit, but not the other.

Thanks,

Print configuration pages on both printers and compares them, find (if any) differences in paper settings, firmware versions, swap toners, swap fusers.

I did print both configs and compare them.  They were slightly different, I assume due to the fact I had updated the firmware on the slow one to see if that would fix it, but they show the settings to be the same.  I have not yet swapped any parts form one to the other to see if there was any difference. We did not replace any expendables when this happened.  Just printed once and it was fast then the next time it was slow.

Disconnect the slow printer from the network, restore it to factory defaults once more, set paper type to plain paper and paper size to one that you are using ( A4, letter) and print some internal pages from printer to check printing speed, swap toner if it prints slow, then fuser.
